André has never been in a Québec traditional music band before La Volée d'Castors , but his great experience in Latin and Cuban music connects to the roots of traditional music from all countries and cultures. André first studied percussions in Montréal with professor Pierre Cormier. He then studied in New York at Drummer's Collective with Frankie Malabe, Gene Golden and Rai Romero. André also had many field experiences in Cuba (bata drums studies with Armando Pedroso and Alberto Villareal; conga drums studies with Vizcaino). In addition to playing with La Volée d'Castors , André Dupuis accompanies different latin and jazz bands from Montréal.

N.B. André plays on bongo, conga and bata drums MORPEC (www.morpec.com) and plays on snare drums SIBERTDRUM.
